The farm will be open from 9am to 4pm. The cucumber patch will be firmly closed for ripening – we had a VERY large crowd out Tuesday night and was completely picked out. You can, however, do some light picking in the green and yellow beans, the peas and end of the season picking in the raspberries. Are next expected cucumber pick will be Thursday evening from 6pm to 9pm – but check in with this message Thursday morning for confirmation.
In the Farm Store today, we’ll have our scrumptious sweet corn and a great selection of garden veggies including fresh picked carrots, beets, dill, garlic, new potatoes, peas, beans, cabbage, Fresh Picked bread n’ butter size cucumbers and salad cucumbers, wild blueberries and wild chanterelle mushrooms. We do NOT have any dill size cucumbers available. The cooler, wetter weather has slowed down the ripening in the cucumber patch.
We always recommend that you give our Farm Hotline: 475 5181 a quick call JUST before you head out to the farm as the size of crowds, weather and ripening can change the availability of our produce and we do update this message as soon as we can.
The amazing maze is now open to explore during farm hours. This year’s design is in celebration of 100 years of 4-H Ontario! The maze takes about 20 to 30 minutes to explore. Check in with our staff in the Farm Store to pay your admission. $1 from each $5 admission will be donated to the United Way of Thunder Bay (HST included).
We are planning on being at our Little Red Barn (located in the parking lot of Home Hardware on Memorial Ave) on Thursday and Friday of this week by 11am each of those days. Just check in with this message the morning of to confirm availability of produce at the Red Barn.
