NEW Update for Friday, September 15th, 2017

We made it through the storm last night safe and sound!

And so!  We will be at the LIttle Red Barn today!   Ashley will be open there from 11am to 4pm with our Fresh Picked Scrumptious Sweet Corn and a nice little ass’t of garden veggies. Pickling cucumbers and peas will not be available. The Little Red Barn is located in the parking lot of Home Hardware on Memorial Avenue.

We are now open at the Farm during afternoons only, Tuesdays to Sundays from 12pm to 4pm.  Mondays we will be closed.  We will have our Pick Your Own hours in the afternoon as well.

We may be in for some showers this afternoon, but you are welcome to do some picking in the Pickling Cucumbers if you’d like!  It will be muddy in between the rows so make sure you bring appropriate footwear.  The weather looks much the same for tomorrow – so again (as long as there’s no threat of thunderstorms) we’ll have it open if folks would like to try and pick in between showers!  We will also have light picking in the sugar snap peas and light picking in the yellow and green beans.

Expected Produce In the Farm Store Friday:  Sweet Corn and Dill SIze and Bread N’ Butter Size pickling cucumbers!  Slicing cucumbers, eggplants, new potatoes, beets, tomatoes, carrots, garlic, dill weed,  summer squash and zucchini, an excellent supply of all colours of beans and a nice ass’t of garden veggies now.

We also have some delicious produce in from our small-scale farm partners in Southern Ontario:  Tomatillos, Peaches, Pears, Apricots and also green and coronation table grapes!

The Amazing Corn Maze is now open to explore (during Farm hours)! $1 from each $5 (HST included) admission is donated to the United Way of Thunder Bay. Just check in with our staff in the Farm Store to pay your admission and to let us know you’ll be heading into the maze.

There is some construction happening on Hwy 130, especially if you head out to the farm from Hwy 11/17 or Arthur Street. We suggest taking Hwy 61 South (towards the US border) to Hwy 130. Turn right onto Hwy 130. Turn left onto Candy Mountain Drive and we’re just down the road on your right hand side.

At the farm we accept debit, VISA and Mastercard, however, as a small business, we sure do appreciate it when you are able to use cash or debit.

We know your furry family members love to take a drive out to the country, however, due to health and safety concerns for both humans and our farm animals, we cannot have any pets in the Pick Your Own fields, the Farm Store, the Greenhouse or the Children’s Play Area. We appreciate your understanding.
