We will be closed here on Sunday. Looks like it’s going to be another hot day, there’s a good chance of rain and/or thunderstorms, and we had a good crowd out Saturday, which means our strawberry fields do need to ripen before the next pick. We are also sold out of Fresh Picked Strawberries and Peas. For all of the those reasons, we’re going to give our staff a well-deserved day off on Sunday! 🙂
We will be back open again on Monday – weather permitting! Check in with our Farm Info Line: 475 5181 first thing Monday morning to confirm. It’s our plan to have our Pick Your Own Strawberry Fields will be open for a LIGHT picking on Monday morning from 9am to 12pm. “Light Picking” means the picking will be good for a basket of berries or so per person. We are now into the last 4 or 5 days of the strawberry season and we still have of lots of beautiful berries to fill your baskets, but the size of the berries does get just a bit smaller and it does take a little longer now to fill your baskets. Luckily, smaller berries still taste just as good if not sweeter than the bigger berries!
We will also have light Saskatoon picking and light raspberry picking and pea picking available. Keep in touch with our Farm Info Line: 475 5181 for up-to-date picking conditions.
The Farm Store will be open from 9am to 4pm on Monday with delicious local and Ontario food items like local meat, fish, cheese, milk, flour, preserves and more.
From our Farm, we will have: New Potatoes, Garlic Scapes, Greenhouse-Grown Slicing Cucumbers and we expect to have a limited supply of Fresh Picked Strawberries in the Farm Store by 10:30am. Please call 475 5181 right before you head out to the farm to confirm the availability of Fresh Picked Strawberries
From Small Scale Sustainable Ontario Farms we will have: Mulberries, Gooseberries, Golden Plums, Bok Choy, White Asparagus, Onions, Shallots, Greenhouse Grown Sweet Bell Peppers and Eggplants.
From the wilds of NW Ontario we will have: Wild Chanterelle Mushrooms!
The “Pick Your Own” experience is a bit unique in that our Pick Your Own availability can change due to weather, ripening or simply if we’ve had a big crowd here, and, therefore, our fields our picked out. That’s why we always suggest (even though we do set a “Pick Your Own” schedule of hours) that you call our info line: 475 5181 or check in with these updates for DAILY picking conditions.

For those of you looking for information on the Little Red Barn: We are certainly hoping there will be enough yield this year to be at the Little Red Barn with our veggies including peas and eventually Sweet Corn. At this point, it doesn’t look like we’ll be starting at the Little Red Barn until sometime in early August. But do keep in touch, because if things change we will definitely post the information here on our Farm Updates page and have it on our info line as well: 475 5181
We know your furry family members love to take a drive out to the country, however, due to health and safety concerns for both humans and our farm animals, we cannot have any pets in the Pick Your Own fields, the Farm Store, the Greenhouse or the Children’s Play Area.
