Update for Saturday, July 29th, 2017

NOTE A):  It’s also going to be a hot one today- so we really encourage you to come and do your picking early if you can.

NOTE B): Take Hwy 61 S (towards the US border) out to the farm to avoid a bit of construction from the Hwy 11/17 or Arthur Street Direction.  Once you reach the airport, we’re just about 15 min away.  Follow Hwy 61 S to Hwy 130.  Turn right onto Hwy 130 and left onto Candy Mountain Drive.  We’re just down the road on your right hand side.

Our Pick Your Own Strawberry Fields will be open for a LIGHT picking on Saturday morning from 9am to 12pm.  “Light Picking” means the picking will be good for a basket of berries or so per person.  We are now into the last week of the strawberry season and we still have of lots of beautiful berries to fill your baskets, but the size of the berries does get just a bit smaller and it does take a little longer now to fill your baskets.  Luckily, smaller berries still taste just as good if not sweeter than the bigger berries!

We will also have light Saskatoon picking and light first of the season raspberry picking available.  The pea patch will be firmly closed for ripening. Keep in touch with our Farm Info Line:  475 5181 for up-to-date picking conditions.

The Farm Store will be open from 9am to 4pm with delicious local and ontario food items like local meat, fish, cheese, milk, flour, preserves and more.
From our Farm, we will have:  New Potatoes, Garlic Scapes,  Greenhouse-Grown Slicing Cucumbers and we will have a limited supply of Fresh Picked Strawberries in the Farm Store starting first thing at 9am.  Please call 475 5181 right before you head out to the farm to confirm the availability of Fresh Picked Strawberries
From Small Scale Sustainable Ontario Farms we will have:
Mulberries, Gooseberries, Apricots, Golden Plums, Baby Artichokes, Bok Choy, White Asparagus, Sweet Potatoes, Onions, Shallots, Greenhouse Grown Sweet Bell Peppers and Eggplants.
From the wilds of NW Ontario we will have: Wild Chanterelle Mushrooms!

The Harvest Cafe will also be open from 9am to 4pm with scrumptious handmade baking from The Bakeshop on Boundary, over-the-top cinnamon buns from Northern Unique, as well as ice cream, homemade strawberry lemonade, “The Real Deal” Strawberry Sundaes, and our famous Belluz Family Strawberry Shortcakes.  Local Hot Dogs will be served up on the BBQ from 10am to 1pm.

The “Pick Your Own” experience is a bit unique in that our Pick Your Own availability can change due to weather, ripening or simply if we’ve had a big crowd here, and, therefore, our fields our picked out.  That’s why we always suggest (even though we do set a “Pick Your Own” schedule of hours) that you call our info line:  475 5181 or check in with these updates for DAILY picking conditions.

Our Schedule of Pick Your Own Hours (subject to Mother Nature)
Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 9am to 12pm
Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30pm
Saturday from 9am to 1pm
Sunday from 12pm to 4pm

Our Farm Store Regular Hours
Monday to Saturday from 9am to 4pm
Sunday from 12pm to 4pm
(and the Farm Store opens with the evenings picks as available)

At the farm we accept debit, VISA and Mastercard, however, as a small business, we sure do appreciate it when you are able to use cash or debit.

For those of you looking for information on the Little Red Barn:  We are certainly hoping there will be enough yield this year to be at the Little Red Barn with berries and vegetables.  At this point, it doesn’t look like we’ll be starting at the Little Red Barn until the last week of July.  But do keep in touch, because if things change we will definitely post the information here on our Farm Updates page and have it on our info line as well:  475 5181

We know your furry family members love to take a drive out to the country, however, due to health and safety concerns for both humans and our farm animals, we cannot have any pets in the Pick Your Own fields, the Farm Store, the Greenhouse or the Children’s Play Area.
