NEW! 12:30pm Update for Saturday, August 19th, 2017

The pick your own fields are now closed for the day.  The pickling cucumber patch is now COMPLETELY PICKED OUT.  We had a huge crowd out today! We are also SOLD OUT of Fresh Picked pickling cucs, dill weed and garlic in the Farm Store.

The Farm Store will remains open today until 4pm.

From our Farm, we will have:  Greenhouse-grown slicing cucumbers, new potatoes, young beets, young carrots, a limited supply of peas and beans now, and a nice ass’t of garden veggies

From our Small-Scale, Sustainable, Ontario Farm Partners, we will have:  Peaches, Cherries, Apricots and Plums

I have yet to hear whether or not we’ll be getting a delivery of wild blueberries for this afternoon.  I will definitely update this message once I know if we have wild blueberries available.

Looking ahead to Sunday, we will have raspberry picking available from 12pm to 4pm.  There’s lots of beautiful berries available to pick, but you do need to look inside the bushes now.  The pickling cucumber patch will be FIRMLY closed for ripening on Sunday, and the pea and bean patches are also closed for ripening – we’re just waiting for another field to open up.  We’re expecting the next cucumber, pea and bean picking to be on Tuesday.  Keep in touch – on Monday afternoon we’ll determine if we’ll go ahead with our scheduled evening pick from 6:30-8:30pm or if we’ll have to open Tuesday morning for picking.

Upcoming Crops: Sweet Corn may be ready by end this coming week! Keep in touch for updated information.

There is some construction happening on Hwy 130, especially if you head out to the farm from Hwy 11/17 or Arthur Street. We suggest taking Hwy 61 South (towards the US border) to Hwy 130.  Turn right onto Hwy 130.  Turn left onto Candy Mountain Drive and we’re just down the road on your right hand side.

The “Pick Your Own” experience is a bit unique in that our Pick Your Own availability can change due to weather, ripening or simply if we’ve had a big crowd here, and, therefore, our fields are picked out. That’s why we always suggest (even though we do set a “Pick Your Own” schedule of hours) that you call our info line: 475 5181 or check in with these updates for DAILY picking conditions.

For the month of August, the farm will be closed on Mondays.

Our Schedule of Pick Your Own Hours (subject to Mother Nature)
Wednesday, Friday from 9am  to 12pm
Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to  8:30pm
Saturday from 9am  to 1pm
Sunday from 12pm to 4pm

Our Farm Store Regular Hours
Tuesday to Saturday from  9am  to 4pm
Sunday from 12pm to 4pm
(and the Farm Store opens with the evenings picks as available)

At the farm we accept debit, VISA and Mastercard, however, as a small business, we sure do appreciate it when you are able to use cash or debit.

For those of you looking for information on the Little Red Barn:  We are certainly hoping there will be enough yield this year to be at the Little Red Barn with our VEGGIES including peas, beans, carrots, beets, potatoes and eventually sweet corn and cucumbers. At this point, though, it doesn’t look like we’ll be starting at the Little Red Barn until we get into the Sweet Corn season.   But do keep in touch, because if things change we will definitely post the information here on our Farm Updates page and have it on our info line as well: 475 5181

We know your furry family members love to take a drive out to the country, however, due to health and safety concerns for both humans and our farm animals, we cannot have any pets in the Pick Your Own fields, the Farm Store, the Greenhouse or the Children’s Play Area.  We appreciate your understanding.
