The farm will be open from 9am to 4pm. Our cucumber and pea fields will be firmly closed for ripening. We will have light raspberry picking available throughout the day, and really excellent yellow, green and purple bean picking available.
The cool days and nights are really slowing down the ripening of our crops – picking may be tricky over the next week. We appreciate your understanding as we work alongside mother nature.
For Produce In the Farm Store on Friday…
From our Farm, we will have: Sweet Corn Today!! And also, greenhouse-grown slicing cucumbers, greenhouse-grown eggplants, new potatoes, young beets, garden and greenhouse tomatoes, young carrots, garlic, dill weed, summer squash, a limited supply of peas, and excellent supply of beans and a nice ass’t of garden veggies now. Fresh Picked PIckling cucumbers will not be available for this week or weekend. If we get some heat going here in the next few days, we should have more available starting next week.
From our Farm Neighbours, we will have: Green zucchini
From the wilds of NW Ontario, we will have: Wild blueberries!
From our Small-Scale, Sustainable, Ontario Farm Partners, we will have: Beautiful peaches, plums, artichokes, sweet bell peppers.
Sweet Corn Update: We’ve started to pick Sweet Corn a bit – but these cool nights will make the start of the season kinda of “patchy”. Basically we’ll have sweet corn for one day and then maybe not for a day or two and then have it again…! At this point, because the start is so slow and patchy, I won’t be able to take any Sweet Corn Orders at all until I see when the picking steadies itself out and becomes more consistent. Luckily we’ve been having nice, long, fall seasons this past few years and that means, we should have Sweet Corn until possibly the end of September!
There is some construction happening on Hwy 130, especially if you head out to the farm from Hwy 11/17 or Arthur Street. We suggest taking Hwy 61 South (towards the US border) to Hwy 130. Turn right onto Hwy 130. Turn left onto Candy Mountain Drive and we’re just down the road on your right hand side.
The “Pick Your Own” experience is a bit unique in that our Pick Your Own availability can change due to weather, ripening or simply if we’ve had a big crowd here, and, therefore, our fields are picked out. That’s why we always suggest (even though we do set a “Pick Your Own” schedule of hours) that you call our info line: 475 5181 or check in with these updates for DAILY picking conditions.
For the month of August, the farm will be closed on Mondays.
Our Schedule of Pick Your Own Hours (subject to Mother Nature)
Wednesday, Friday from 9am to 12pm
Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30pm

Our Farm Store Regular Hours

At the farm we accept debit, VISA and Mastercard, however, as a small business, we sure do appreciate it when you are able to use cash or debit.
For those of you looking for information on the Little Red Barn: We are certainly hoping there will be enough yield this year to be at the Little Red Barn with our VEGGIES including peas, beans, carrots, beets, potatoes and eventually sweet corn and cucumbers. At this point, though, it doesn’t look like we’ll be starting at the Little Red Barn until we get into the Sweet Corn season. But do keep in touch, because if things change we will definitely post the information here on our Farm Updates page and have it on our info line as well: 475 5181
We know your furry family members love to take a drive out to the country, however, due to health and safety concerns for both humans and our farm animals, we cannot have any pets in the Pick Your Own fields, the Farm Store, the Greenhouse or the Children’s Play Area. We appreciate your understanding.
