Well, we are going to go ahead with a morning pick from 9am to 12pm. Although we usually only do evening picks on Tuesday, the weather looks a little iffy for late afternoon early evening and there is some great fruit to pick out there so we will be picking in the morning AND if the weather cooperates we’ll be open for an evening pick as well – just check in with this message early afternoon to confirm the evening pick.
For picking on Tuesday morning we’ll good strawberry picking, excellent pea picking, good Saskatoon picking the raspberry patch will be closed for ripening during the day. We have about 7 days or so left to the strawberry season. This means that we have lots of good picking left – lots of flavourful, juicy berries still to pick, but the size of the fruit will now start to become just a bit smaller, and it will take just a bit longer now to fill your baskets than it did in the earlier days of the season.
The Farm Store will be open from 9am to 4pm and again with the evening pick if it’s a go – our Fresh Picked strawberries will come in after 11am, but we will have a great selection of garden veggies including beets, carrots, kale, garlic scapes, salad greens, herbs and peas.
We always recommend that you give this line a quick call JUST before you head out to the farm as the size of crowds, weather and ripening can change the availability of our produce and we do update this message as soon as we can.
At the farm we accept debit, credit card, personal cheque and cash, of course. We sure do appreciate when you are able to use cash or personal cheque – in fact – we have a separate line up outside for that during strawberry season to get you through a bit quicker.
Due to food safety concerns, pets are not allowed into the pick your own fields or any of the buildings on site and we do appreciate your understanding.
We are planning to be at our Little Red Barn (located in the parking lot of Home Hardware on Memorial Avenue) on Thursday and Friday this week at 11am each day – just check in with this message the morning of to confirm availability of produce at the Barn.
