As we transition into the fall season, our farm hours will be reduced over the next week. We’ll be open here on Saturday (12th) from 9am to 4pm and on Sunday (13th), Tuesday (15th) and Wednesday (16th) from 12pm to 4pm each day. We will be closed on Thursday (17th) and Friday (18th), and open again on Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th from 12pm to 4pm. After that we will be closed until we open on our Fall Wonderland which is open weekends only (11am to 5pm each day) beginning with the last weekend in September until October 31st.
It is our plan to be at the Little Red Barn (located in the parking lot of Home Hardware) on Thursday and Friday this week at 11am both days. Just phone our hotline the morning of both days to confirm produce availability at the Little Red Barn.
So here on Saturday, you can pick your own cucumbers, both dill and bread n’ butter size. We will also have light picking available in the beans
In the Farm Store, we will have our scrumptious sweet corn. We’ll also have some wonderful garden veggies like carrots, beets, garlic, new potatoes, 3 kinds of cabbage, 3 colours of cauliflower, kale, swiss chard, leeks, wild blueberries, wild chanterelles mushrooms and Fresh Picked Bread n’ Butter size cucumbers. At this point in the cucumber season, we will no longer have any Fresh Picked Dill size cucumbers. We very excited to have Slate River Dairy’s 1L whole milk in our Farm Store fridge as well.
The amazing maze is now open to explore during farm hours. This year’s design is in celebration of 4-H Canada’ s 100 year anniversary. $1 from each $5 admission is donated to the United Way of Thunder Bay (HST included). The Amazing Maze is 3 acres and takes about 20 to 30 min. to complete. Just check in with our staff in the Farm Store to pay your admission and let us know you’ll be heading into the maze.
