Well, our pick your own fields were COMPLETELY picked out on Saturday so all fields will be closed for ripening on Sunday.
Our Farm Store was completely SOLD out of fresh picked fruits and veggies on Saturday, and because we give our picking crew Sundays off – we will also close our Farm Store on Sunday.
We apologize for any inconvenience…and thanks everyone for your great support on Saturday.
So looking ahead, we’ll be closed here on Monday, August 1st for the Civic Holiday. Our Pick Your Own fields will be open on Tuesday – we’ll decide by the end of the day whether we’ll open for a morning pick on Tuesday or an evening pick or possibly both – so keep in touch by Sunday night for updates.
Sadly, both the strawberry and saskatoon seasons have now come to an end, BUT, happily, for Pick Your Own crops this week, light raspberry picking (we do have a decreased yield in the patch this year so the picking will always be “light”), good pea picking – both sugar snap and shelling. And good yellow and green bean picking.
The Farm Store will be open on Tuesday from 9am to 4pm and again with the evening pick if available. Fresh Picked raspberries will not be available this year, but after 10:30am on Tuesday, will have fresh picked peas both shelling and sugar snap, new potatoes, garlic scapes, baby beets, baby carrots, dill weed, and an ass’t of garden veggies in the Farm Store. You can continue to check in with this message for updates as I will update our produce availability as we move through the day. The sweet corn and cucumber season will start about mid-August.
Due to food safety concerns, unfortunately pets aren’t allowed into the pick your own fields or any of the buildings on site and we do appreciate your understanding on that matter.
At the farm we accept debit, credit card, personal cheque and cash, of course. But as a small business, we sure do appreciate when you are able to use cash or personal cheque to help us avoid those pesky credit card and debit fees.
