Well, it looks like a beautiful, soft rain will continue here at the farm until about 11:30 or so. You are still welcome to come and pick this morning just make sure you wear appropriate footwear – the raspberry patch will be wet and the cucumber/pea/bean fields will be a touch muddy. If you’d like to wait until the afternoon to see if the weather clears – no problem – we’re going to extend our picking hours until 3:30pm today.
We’ll have light picking in the raspberry patch, excellent picking in the peas and the yellow and green beans, light picking in the cucumber patch for dill size, good picking for bread n’ butter size and excellent picking for slicer in size. In fact, if you are looking to do your relish, now is the time – we have our slicer size bag special on right now – all you can fit in a grocery bag for $3 – large re-usable bags are $4-$5 depending on the size.
The Farm Store will be open from 9am to 4pm. We will have fresh picked bread n’ butter size cucumbers, shelling and snap peas, new potatoes, yellow and green beans, beets, carrots, garlic, dill, greenhouse heirloom tomatoes and a nice ass’t of garden veggies.
Our Sweet Corn season will start likely around August 17th or so. I’ll have more info by the end of the weekend.
Due to food safety concerns, unfortunately pets aren’t allowed into the pick your own fields or any of the buildings on site and we appreciate your understanding. It’s probably best to leave them at home where they’ll be somewhere cool.
At the farm we accept debit, credit card, personal cheque and cash, of course. But as a small business, we sure do appreciate it when you are able to use cash or personal cheque to help us avoid those pesky credit card and debit fees.
